Small Businesses Playing Santa Rather Than Scrooge

There seems to be a little more holiday cheer in the air in small businesses across the country this year.

Higher revenue might be the reason for the good will.

Here are some ways small business owners are giving back to their employees this year according to the study:

  • 56 percent of employers will give their employees time off this holiday season. Only 40 percent did last year.
  • 42 percent of entrepreneurs said they are going to give employees end-of-the-year bonuses, up from 27 percent last year.
  • 25 percent said they are giving employees raises, compared to only 11 percent in 2013.
  • 44 percent of small businesses are planning holiday parties. That is up from 32 percent that threw parties in 2013.

Small business owners may have found investing this year’s higher revenue into gifts for employees may be better than saving the money and being a Scrooge.
